Asphalt Drum Mix Plant
Asphalt Drum Mix plant, more popularly known as Hot Mix Plant in India, is our forte. With almost 20 years of experience in asphalt plant, and an installed base of 500+ plants, we are the masters of continuous asphalt mixing technology. Throughout India and overseas, contractors are using our asphalt drum mix plants to produce millions of tons of quality asphalt. Our plants are known for quality of mix, lower operating costs, higher productivity & unmatched efficiency. Our plants boast high up-time – because we believe that the “plant” is a “plant” as long as its working, else it is just a huge pile of junk metal. In some parts of India people also refer to Hot Mix plant as “damar plant” or “luk plant”.
Components of Asphalt Plant / Asphalt Drum Mix Plant / Hot Mix Plant
The drying & mixing unit
Drying and Mixing unit of the asphalt plant demands complex flight design and heat transfer technology. With continuous R&D and incorporation of the latest design up-gradations; Our thermo-drum is miles ahead of competition. The thermo-drum unit follows a triple heat transfer system by conduction, convection & radiation technologies ensuring transfer of heat to the aggregates, translating into higher productivity and lower fuel consumption. Our unique flight design ensures total heat transfer, a thorough mixing & coating, lower emissions and prevention of bitumen oxidation.
Burner
Our high pressure atomized, fully automatic remotely controlled burner unit has already gained an enviable reputation for its fuel efficiency, ease of operation and high up-time. Completely automatic process control with systems interlocks ensure conformance to high safety standards.
Cold aggregate bin feeder
Cold aggregate bins or “IV bin feeder” are modular in construction, permitting easy addition of bins to meet growing needs. Steep walls and valley angles of our bins ensure a free flow of aggregates without hold up of materials in the corners. The bins come with adjustable gate openings and variable speed feeders drive. Together they offer total proportional control, greater flexibility and accuracy. This ensures top performance even under the toughest of operating conditions.
Controls
Fully computerized air conditioned control cabin with on board electrical power control console, distribution switch board, fully automatic process & sequence control are a standard on all Our Drum Mix Plants. User friendly software gives you total reliability and ensures top notch performance.

Bitumen Heating & Storage Solutions
With Everest Hot Mix Plant, Customers can opt for a direct heating type or hot oil heated bitumen storage tanks. Storage capacities range from 10 – 50 tons. Indirect heating tanks comes with a thermic oil heater. Direct heating tanks come with automatic imported pressure jet burner. As a standard, all our tanks have auto thermostatic controls and level indicators. We use high efficiency insulation materials to insulate the tank and prevent heat loss resulting in lower fuel consumption. For a direct heating tank, a seamless pipe runs through the tank offering greater leakage protection and more efficient & uniform heating.
Pollution Control Unit (Optional)
As per the IRC: 90 – 2010 guidelines, the following pollution control arrangements serve as an integral part of the asphalt plant or the hot mix plant:
- Primary Pollution Control Device :- It is the primary Dust Collection System capable of removal of Up to 90% dust from the dryer exhaust of the asphalt hot mix plant.
- Secondary Pollution Control Device :- The wet scrubber system will capture pollutant gases from asphalt hot mix plant namely: CO, NO2, SO2 and VOCs and it’s unique design ensures removal of 95-99.9% gaseous pollutants. It, then, generates affluent particles which are, then, treated in a neutralization plant/pond.
The salient features and specifications of this unit are as per the stipulations laid down by the MORTH (Ministry of Road Transport and Highways) and published in IRC: 90 – 2010. As per the IRC: 90 – 2010, Annex – C, the typical asphalt plant or hot mix plant emission and their control is as per the given standards.
Functioning of WDC
After mixing asphalt with aggregate, the plant inducts the dust & hot air into the dry dust collector and the wet dust collector. The wet dust collector has very high-pressure water nozzles to spray the water in the chamber onto the gases causing condensation: conversion of gases into liquid. At this point air pressure remains very thin and the remaining air, which contains almost no pollutants, travels outside through the exhaust chimney. The liquid from the wet scrubber chamber goes into a sludge pond and we highly recommend to clean the sludge pond at least once every week.
